This Nutella banana bread is great not just because it incorporates everyone's favorite chocolate and hazelnut spread, but also because it is spiked with rum. The boozy loaf is ideal for brunch or a cheeky accompaniment to your afternoon tea. Created by Cornell University student Maia Vernacchia, the recipe is adapted from one on the blog A Cup of Jo.
The Nutella banana bread is an excellent use for over-ripe bananas, but it also is a delicious treat. To make your own at home, you will need ingredients including baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, egg whites, flour, milk, mushy bananas, Nutella or another chocolate hazelnut spread, rum, salt, unsalted butter and vanilla extract. The rum is technically optional.
