The Dream Machine pop-up brought a surreal reality to the people of Brooklyn, but now the team is celebrating Halloween with the Nightmare Machine experience. Inspired by phobias and fears, the Nightmare Machine is designed to be a tactile and shareable experience meant to induce intense feelings of dread. The nine-room experience features themes ranging from clowns to cockroaches. While the pop-up is fear-inducing, the whole experience is PG-13 and welcome to anyone seeking horror.
According to co-creator Paige Solomon, “Our goal with Nightmare Machine is to tap into our weirdest nighttime dreamscapes and create a creepy, fun and content-focused experience that will transport you into an alternate world.” The idea of a "content-focused experience" is key to the Nightmare Machine experience as the pop-up is meant to be more photo-friendly when compared to traditional haunted houses.
