Genette Dibsdall Designs the Maverick in Order to Curb Music Festival Waste

People do not often reflect on what is left after big events—music festival waste can certainly be appalling to witness, for example. This is probably the outrage that designer Genette Dibsdall experienced when she found that many camping tents were abandoned recklessly after the UK music festival Boardmasters in 2018. Dibsdall decided to act on her anger and in order to provide solutions for this problem, the upcycled the musical festival waste into a chic luxury item. Called The Maverick, the piece is versatile as it can be used as a cape, a nap sack, or even a tree tent. About The Maverick, Dibsdall claims: "its functional and sculptural approach throws out the rulebook on traditional fashion practices."
