Chiang Mai-based architecture studio Sher Maker creates a new factory showroom made from Chamchuri wood in collaboration with local furniture factory Moonler. The duo highlights the fine craftsmanship of its local community and the showroom itself is located in the city. The longhouse showroom honors the traditional region and its materials and design to highlight the depth of its products and methods.
The space is made with inspiration from traditional Thai longhouses and artfully blended with the visual theme of a pavilion. In addition to this, Sher Maker ensures that the space remains sympathetic to the natural environment that surrounds the building. The structure is narrow and long and has a gabled roof on top that connects to the entrance court.
