Next time you're looking for a beer with a bit of spacey zest to it, consider trying the 'Celest-Jewel-Ale,' otherwise known as Moon Beer.
Brewed by Delaware-based Dogfish Head, the beer contains pieces of crushed-up moon dust that comprise mostly of minerals and salts, which help the fermentation process. In celebrating the fall equinox, the Celest-Jewel-Ale has pieces of lunar meteorites that were collected by ILC, a design and development company that make NASA spacesuits, steeped in it. The rich and malty German ale supposedly has an earthy texture, and has a 5% alcohol-by-volume percentage and 25 IBUs. The cozies that come with the beer are also made from the same material as the space suits.
The Moon Beer is available at the Dogfish Head's pub in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
