Resolution 4 Architecture's Coastal House is Prefabricated and Compact
Kalin Ned — October 31, 2022 — Art & Design
Resolution 4 Architecture designs a prefabricated modular beach house as a family getaway. Positioned on the sand dunes of Lido Beach, New York, the compact, minimalist, and modern-inspired structure presents "unencumbered views of the Atlantic Ocean." Unsurprisingly, the modular beach house is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around it to maximize the visual benefits of its location.
Resolution 4 Architecture's design features two wood-framed prefabricated forms that are stacked atop one another. These structures were prefabricated by Simplex Homes in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The architectural firm also wanted the modular beach house to fit within its coastal context and as a result, selected Western Red cedar as a main material since "the muted cedar typically harmonizes well within beach communities."
