A new pop-up mobile pharmacy will now be touring Scarborough where the public can consult pharmacists and get a range of healthy living advice. Inside the inflatable pod, people can visit and take advantage of free checks for blood pressure, diabetes, as well as analyze their own body mass. With touchscreen stations, people will also be able to explore tips on general health and wellness.
In the space, there are healthy smoothies served as light refreshments, as well as games that can be played to test reaction times.
The pop-up pharmacy is being operated by Lincolnshire Co-op, which runs three pharmacies in the Scarborough area. As Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head of Pharmacy Alastair Farquhar notes: "We offer so many health checks and services in pharmacies that people aren’t aware of, and we think this is a great way to get the message out there."
