After convincing 19 governments and a king, Belgian non-governmental organization Child Focus is having the face of a missing child being put onto one million 2 Euro coins.
The Coins of Hope campaign features the face of missing child Liam Vanden Branden, who disappeared in 1996. All of the countries in the Eurozone block have agreed to allow his face to be depicted on legal currency in order to raise hope for other missing children as well. A map on the campaign's website allows you to track the coins as they make their way, hand to hand, all over the continent.
This initiative combines a social element with the Coins of Hope hashtag with a very real-world approach to raising awareness all over Europe.
