Australian architecture company Studio Edwards finishes a small remodeled home dubbed the Microloft located in Melbourne's Fitzroy district. The clients are a young couple and the space is the top floor of an apartment that was first built in the 80s. The home does not rely on any walls or partitions, rather, it has custom furniture that is meant to create a visually defining connection throughout.
Founder of the studio, Ben Edwards explains the project to Dezeen, stating that "They asked for a home that felt unified and clutter-free, with ample storage, an efficient kitchen with space for cooking and dining, a comfortable lounge and quiet sleeping zones. Microloft provides a solution for inner-city living that navigates the constraints of limited space and aging housing stock through an interior that provides the clients with a functional and coherent dwelling."
