Highly acclaimed furniture designer Michael Sodeau has created the lightweight, limited edition Halo chair for Hypetex, the brand that is perhaps best known for introducing the world to colored carbon fiber. This lounge chair is developed from materials developed by Formula One engineers, and has been designed to be able to utilize the material's properties to the maximum.
The Halo chair has a thin tapered support that connects its circular back to its rear legs, giving the impression that the chair's back is floating independently. The carbon-fiber seating surface sits on three legs instead of four, creating a sensation of visual lightness while providing sufficient stability.
The Halo lounge chair will be displayed for the first time at the 2014 London Design Festival.
