Meny Hilsenrad is a post production and 3-D specialist at Israeli VFX and animation company Studio Aiko. For his wife's birthday, he went all out and created this incredibly touching video birthday card with which he surprised his wife.
A beautiful and creative way to say "I love You," Meny Hilsenrad's 'Moran' birthday card was created using CG animation (except for the hands -- these were shot, says the artist). The video took about nine months to produce, with pre-production work taking six months. This included gathering the photos -- about 25,000 of them! -- and then selecting only the most appropriate, which amounted to 372 photos. According to the artist, production itself took three months, comprising of creating the 3D element, animation and putting together the final product.
