As of May 2020, people in New York City can look forward to visiting The Makeup Museum, a first-of-its-kind physical space devoted to the history of makeup and its impact on cultures around the world. The opening of the flagship is set to kick off with an exhibition called Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America, which looks back on the birth of the modern cosmetics industry, as well as key entrepreneurs, icons and artifacts from the decade. Beyond this, The Makeup Museum will also be revisiting makeup's 10,000-year history.
As well as being a place for people to learn about makeup and vintage artifacts from the past, The Makeup Museum will also be a destination for events and engaging with brand sponsors—Erno Laszlo will be sharing a collection of facial products used by Marilyn Monroe and Greta Garbo.
