While most bridges encourage a relatively quick route from point A to point B for vehicle and foot traffic alike, the Lens Bridge actually invites you to stay awhile before sending you on your way to your destination. Part sculpture, part pavilion and all bridge, the Lens Bridge can easily become the destination -- at least in London.
Conceived by Nikolay Tsochev, the Lens Bridge connects five neighborhoods surrounding the River Lea. An open and airy design that lets in a ton of natural light, it also boasts mini amphitheaters at each end that allow local artists to perform for visitors and locals alike as well as an auditorium for educational and recreational purposes. The Lens Bridges crowning feature, however, is its panoramic upper level that provides a 360 degree view of the surrounding area.
