In addition to World Cup fever, some people have been overwhelmed with envy for the dreadlocks of team U.S.A. player Kyle Beckerman. Coincidentally, Free People is now selling packs of dreadlock extensions, which can be clipped into hair just as you would any other hair extension.
There are some wacky hair accessories out there, but these ones are extra unusual. The dreadlocks by Purple Finch come as single strands in a pack of 10 for $128, which seems pricey, but since it takes time for dreadlocks to form and it's very difficult to remove them afterwards, perhaps experimenting with a temporary option isn't such a bad idea after all. The dreadlocks have a comb-on application and are made with a combination of wool, silk, cotton and brass. As well as a natural shade, the dreads also come in a vibrant blue.
