Kanye West closed out the 2008 MTV Music Video Awards (MVAs) with the debut of Love Lockdown, despite the fact that about one year ago he said he would boycott the MTV awards show. If you remember, his performance last year on the show was likened to giving a stage performance in Vegas. His ego was also a bit bruised because he didn’t win a thing.
I doubt we’ll have to concern ourselves as to whether Kanye West will boycott the MTV awards next year because although he didn’t take home the much coveted “Video of the Year” award, he did win the award for “Best Special Effects” for the video, “Good Life.” However, he vented about Britney Spears last year getting special treatment and this year Spears made a sweep—so you never know.
