Designer Kamps' Series is a Fun and Interactive Hiding Place

Netherlands-based designer and artist Lambert Kamps from the city of Groningen has recently displayed a series of Inflatable Furniture during the 2014 IMM Cologne furnishing show. The exhibition features a collection of bulging, inflated chairs and an interactive shelter that allows visitors to take refuge inside the tent-like structure.
Taking inspiration from a sandbag-like fortress, the structure blurs the boundaries between architecture and design. The entire installation is a caramel-colored, layered shelter bound together by red straps, built with a 220 meter inflatable tube that was layered on top of each other. Inside the structure are layers of blankets to allow visitors to pop their heads in the many openings or go in to simply hang out.
