Jumbo, the digital privacy application originally launched in 2019, recently released 'Jumbo 4,' the latest update to its service. Most notably, Jumbo 4 makes more features on the platform free, as the CEO, Pierra Valade, believes that the company "made a mistake" in locking many features behind paywalls. Valade continued on to state "At the end of the day, there were very few things left in the free product," which is not ideal for consumer acquisition at a digital security service.
Jumbo 4 released all of its services for free, including those that were previously locked behind its paywall. However, the company will still make money as it will charge improved premium features for businesses who want to use it as an enterprise security solution. This B2B business model helps the app gain traction and user bases while still earning revenue.
