Johnnie Walker celebrates 200 years of whisky-making with an experience center in Edinburgh. The building boasts 800 flavor combinations available to visitors through an innovative dispensation system. Visitors can select their choice of whisky and fill engraved bottles directly from the casks for a unique purchasing experience.
In addition to the whisky dispensary, the building houses two rooftop bars and a terrace overlooking the city's historic skyline. Dubbed the Johnnie Walker Princes Street, the landmark, which took four and a half years to build, sets "a new standard for immersive visitor attractions," as expressed by Ivan Menezes, CEO at Diageo. The project is part of Diageo's $256 million investment, marking the largest single investment of its kind in Scotch whisky tourism.
