The Booleanos cabinet by Joel Escalona takes its design inspiration from the modern art world. Playing with one's visual perception, the designer explores a variety of creative concepts and processes that include construction, deconstruction and varying transparencies in addition to the relationship between positive and negative spaces.
Joel stacks three angular wooden frames, each housing its own drawer and paints them in varying wood finishes. While its top and bottom elements remain solid, the Booleanos cabinet's central element features optically deceiving art work that explores an angular view of the third dimension.
When combined, each of the storage unit's fragmented elements show off a richness in color and texture and make this geometric and unconventional design by Joel Escalona one to remember.
