When one moves, there are many examples of items left behind, but when there is a mass exodus, rarely do the remaining items ever get picked up.
This photo series is an example of objects that never quite made it out of its residence. There are abandoned buildings, homes of those who have passed on and prison remnants. The pieces that have been left seem as though they are frozen in time. They act as a representation of the lives that the owners lived, and now they have been discarded. Most of the items are books or scattered papers, but important documents such as prison files have also been left behind. The lonely feeling that is evoked through these images left behind is very powerful, and it will almost make you think twice before leaving behind your own objects.
