A mix of generative art and photography, this series of abstract glitch art photographs was created by artist Kalliope Amorphous. In this series, she photographs interrupted cable tv signals to create unusual deconstructed images. These abstract portraits and landscapes, which look like paintings, are captured by the artist using a camera focused on a television screen. The artist manually interrupts the broadcast signal to capture interesting compositions as the cable signal falls away and the commercials, tv shows, and game shows disintegrate.
Of the series, she writes: "This series highlights the beauty of errors and brokenness which can emerge from the world of airbrushed, high definition imagery. Through the careful invocation of flaws, surreal narratives emerge from the chaotic breakdown of facade."
