There are tons of college students around the world who have eaten instant noodles cold, but now Nissin Cup Noodles has officially introduced a special version of its instant noodles that are meant to be eaten icy cold, rather than hot.
To set these icy instant noodles apart, the packaging has been revamped with an icy illustration of Mount Fuji. The type of noodles in this new Cup Noodle are called somen, which are one of the thinnest kinds of Japanese noodles out there. Instant noodle-eaters will also find clam, seaweed, mushroom, ginger and chicken pieces and flavoring in the cup of soup. The unusual instant noodle variety is set for a summer release on July 7th and in honor of it all, the noodle manufacturer Nissin has declared the launch date to be "Somen Day."
