IKEA on Roblox introduced the Careers Done Different collaboration to reach a new generation interested in virtual gaming and real-world employment opportunities. This virtual IKEA store is styled to look just like one of the iconic furniture retailer's shops, complete with aisles to follow and products styled to look like different scenes from home.
This digital storefront is more than just a space to explore, and with its virtual destination on Roblox, IKEA is looking for paid co-worker roles within the virtual space. “When we say careers done different, we do mean it," said Kemi Anthony, marketing communications manager at IKEA UK and Ireland, "To bring career progression at IKEA to life, it made sense to demonstrate the co-worker journey in a less traditional way, by ‘recruiting’ people to try it out for themselves at IKEA on Roblox.”
