CNN assembled this dramatic video montage of various reporters being thrashed about on the front lines of hurricane Gustav in the southern US. Although the images are humorous, the severity of the hurricane is graphically illustrated by the struggling reporters pictured in the 90+ MPH winds.
The CNN reporters clung to poles, were tethered with ropes and a few just tried their best to stay within the view of the camera - cameras which continuously required to be wiped clean of the pounding rain drops.
With overtopping levees, flooded roads, downed trees and flying debris the full effect of the storm is yet to be determined.
