Ahead of International E-Waste Day in October, a hologram named HypnoCat is encouraging the commuters passing through London’s Waterloo Station to participate in the Great Cable Challenge. Instead of clinging to a drawer full of unused cables with the hope of future use, people can put them to better use by recycling, donating functional ones, and helping to recirculate valuable copper resources.
HypnoCat, created by holographic specialists Hypergram, does not need a special screen or pair of glasses to be seen. Instead, people in the station can look for HypnoCat for a limited time under the big train time information board.
HypnoCat's physical presence builds on the success of last year's campaign using the powers of hypnosis and "pawsuasion" to encourage people to appropriately circulate their e-waste.
