Foxhole Spirits created Hyke Gin as an innovative grape gin spirit that's made with discarded Tesco supermarket grapes. The new gin, available in 500-milliliter bottles, will be available exclusively through Tesco stores as part of the waste-reducing goals that the retailer is working towards by the year 2030.
The grapes that are used in the making of the spirit are snipped from bunches that are packaged for supermarket shelves and flavor the gin alongside botanicals like coriander, myrrh and rooibos that take cues from the African and South American origins of the fruit. The result is an affordable, sustainable and inspiring product that is described as having "rich, sweet citrus characters” and a rich aroma.
