Google recently partnered with Stanford Neurodiversity Project to launch the Google Cloud Autism Career Program. The aim of the inclusive project is to hire more people with Autism in light of a recent study that states that only 29% of people with Autism have any sort of paid work in their lives.
The Google Cloud Autism Career Program aims to eliminate unfair disadvantages that "often unintentionally marginalizes great candidates." Some of the initiatives of the program include giving candidates with autism extra interview time, be sent interviews questions in advance, and being able to do their interview in writing.
“This program is just one example of Google Cloud’s commitment to inclusion, and it is an important step forward to building a more representative team and creating value for customers and stakeholders," said Rob Enslin, the
President of Global Customer Operations at Google Cloud.
