Google Partnered with AARP to Train Those Aged 50+ on Tech Jobs

Google.org, the mission-focused, philanthropic subsidiary of Google, partnered up with the AARP to launch a senior reskilling initiative. Through this initiative, the companies will train individuals aged 50 and up, with a focus on women and people of color, on how to work modern tech-focused jobs. Additionally, the company will prioritize jobs with valid work-from-home prospects, as this is more accessible for a large number of senior citizens.
The first round of training sessions began in March of 2022, though subsequent training sessions will continue throughout 2023 under current partnership deals. In addition to training senior citizens on tech jobs and technology skills, the workshops will also cover digital economic security, online privacy practices, and other invaluable tools for navigating the modern online world.
