The Ghana Green Building Council is a membership-based organization that supports sustainability and environmentally friendly energy systems across the country.
"Ghana Green Building Council (GGBC) is a non-governmental organization and private-public partnership that is committed to help create sustainable buildings/communities in Ghana using energy savings, water conservation, resource management and cost-efficient techniques," writes the Green Africa Directory, a resource to find social businesses and social enterprises across the continent at large. "The GGBC provides green building resources, education and leadership opportunities to all stakeholders in the construction industry to help in the transformation process towards sustainability."
These sorts of large-scale endeavors that involve a variety of actors are necessary in creating long-standing change especially where there are barriers to entry like lack of infrastructure as well as other challenges. GGBC also supports events such as the Ecobuild Ghana conference which puts on seminars and workshops to start conversation and enable networking opportunities.
