Andy Purviance Created the Game of Oz
Mesel Isaac — May 12, 2014 — Pop Culture
Artist Andy Purviance who also uses the online moniker Otterlove, has created a fun and surprisingly fitting mashup of the beloved fantasy series the Wizard of Oz and Game of Thrones named – you guessed it – Game of Oz.
Using well-known (and some lesser-known) characters from the Wizard of Oz books, Andy Purviance joins them with what he considers to be their Game of Thrones counterparts. Since no Great House is complete without their House Words, Purviance transforms the House of Words of the noble Houses from Game of Thrones into their own humorous Game of Oz counterparts.
While both the Wizard of Oz and Game of Thrones have inspired their fans to create beautiful works of art in their own right, Andy Purviance ups the ante by merging his two loves and creating a piece that is both beautiful and humorous to behold.
