This year and last proved to be particularly challenging for schooling and Frito-Lay Variety Packs is hoping to drive home the importance of STEM programs in collaboration with aspiring astronaut Alyssa Carson. For the launch of the Back-to-School Blast Off campaign, Frito-Lay Variety Packs will be sponsoring 50 girls so that they get to experience Space Camp.
Focusing on inspiring a love and appreciation for STEM in women and underrepresented community groups, the program promises to provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Based on a recent study that shows "most girls become interested in STEM around the age of 11, but their interest starts to wane by the age of 15," the Space for Her scholarship helps to foster interest in science and tech, as well as coaching and guidance on different career paths.
