Foster + Partners are planning on rebuilding the South Quay Plaza in London, in order to open up the space more and provide people with an area to enjoy the waterfront. As of now, the current building is quite bulky, but doesn't have too much height to it, leaving little room to walk around the structure and not even enough inside it.
To fix this problem Foster + Partners are proposing a super slender structure, and one that would sit at 73 storeys to be exact. The building would provide homes for city dwellers, and also consist of retail space. While the construction is happening for this piece of architecture, more jobs will be created, and once the building is finished these job opportunities will shift to people working in the retail shops.
