Taco Bell is Exploring a Fast Food and Wine Pairing
Laura McQuarrie — September 14, 2020 — Lifestyle
To enhance the rich taste and crunchy texture of the beloved Toasted Cheesy Chalupa, Taco Bell Canada is introducing a limited-edition Jalapeño Noir wine for a fast food and wine pairing. Within a crispy shell, the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa shares the taste of six-month aged sharp cheddar cheese, seasoned beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheddar cheese and reduced fat sour cream. As Taco Bell Canada describes, the "Toasted Cheesy Chalupa complements notes of wild strawberry, cherry and beetroot in this silky limited-edition red wine."
The bottles of Jalapeño Noir are made by Queenston Mile Vineyard in Ontario, and there are three unique bottles for collectors to get their hands on.
While the Toasted Cheesy Chalupa is made with beef by default, vegetarians can also experience this unique pairing by substituting the meat for beans.
