To coincide with the release of the newest season of Game of Thrones, a fantasy tourism stunt was launched by Tourism Ireland.
As many scenes of the show were filmed in picturesque locations across Ireland, it has received a boost in tourism since filming began in 2010. To make the most of this, Tourism Ireland is unveiling a 250-foot tapestry mural recounting the plot of the past six seasons of the show.
With the release of each episode of Game of Thrones season seven, a new portion of the tapestry will be revealed. The first piece of the woven art piece is currently being made and will be ready for show upon release of episode two. For those unable to see the tapestry on display at the Ulster Museum in Belfast, there is also an interactive version available for view online.
