Miami Grill began working on its next-generation business model, the Express Double Drive Through, before the global pandemic hit and it is now speeding up development to support what it sees will be "an altered business environment in the post-COVID-19 world."
The Express Double Drive Through uses the Miami Grill app and online ordering platforms for order-ahead curbside pickup and supports all major third-party delivery platforms, catering via Ezcater, and even passersby on foot with a pickup window for pedestrians. While Miami Grill's Express Double Drive Through does have a small area inside for customers who are ordering and picking up, notably this next-generation franchise model does not include a dining area.
According to Robert Haar, Vice President, Franchise Development, "this new model will open the investment opportunity at a much lower cost than the traditional model."
