As COVID-19 has caused more consumers to decrease the amount of time they spend in restaurants and veer towards take-out options that they can enjoy on-the-go or at home, McDonald's is looking to introduce restaurants that either limit or do away with the dine-in experience altogether. In addition to reducing the company's footprint by creating smaller spaces, the restaurants could greatly reduce wait times, resulting in improved customer satisfaction.

With streamlined drive thru lines for app users who've placed their orders in advance, as well as express pick-up options through dedicated parking spaces, McDonald's hopes to provide the most efficient service possible that's in line with the latest technology.
