Vaarnii's Whimsical Furniture Was Presented at Tableau
Kalin Ned — June 16, 2023 — Art & Design
Finnish brand Vaarnii specializes in experimental furniture designs that consider pathways to ethical and sustainable production practices. According to founder Antti Hirvonen, Vaarnii launched three years ago "with the idea that the way that we consume stuff is broken." The brand really emphasizes local production, expert craftsmanship, and longevity in use.
The experimental furniture designs that were on show at the Tableau gallery commemorated the brand's participation in the annual 3daysofdesign festival in Copenhagen which took place between June 7th and June 9th. Vaarnii arranged a very interesting interior, mixing sophisticated wooden pine furniture, which the brand specializes in, with ceramics that created an almost otherworldly experience with their irregular and organic shapes. These ceramics were provided by "designers and artists tied to the gallery."
