Håndverk+ Showcases Experimental Design Objects
Kalin Ned — October 17, 2022 — Art & Design
Galleri Format Oslo is presenting the fifth edition of Håndverk+, an annual project that highlights emerging talent and experimental design objects. This showcase is one of many ways that contemporary designers test out and introduce their ideas, whilst networking and awing visitors with their sometimes otherworldly designs.
The theme of this year's Håndverk+ is transformation and the exhibition features a total of 19 innovative projects. The creatives take on different approaches to the theme—while "some explore a transformation through material or process, [...] others refer to movements of the body or changes in nature." For example, the range of experimental design objects on display features Marthine Spinnangr's Palucca chair which draws cues from the art of dancing. Kaja Dahl and Njål Andreassen, on the other hand, test out pine tree stumps as material for a hybrid furniture piece.
