The 'Everyday Reflections' series aims to allow you to take an intimate look into the lives of a few Estonian subjects. Artist Heikki Leis created the hyperrealistic portraits to show the morning routines of her subjects. Each portrait features a different person staring into the mirror while preparing to face the world. Leis illustrated her subjects in exquisite detail down to the last pore. As a result, each portrait allows for a personal look into the private life of a stranger.
Everyday Reflections focuses on the lives of people who influence Estonian culture. Leis chose to illustrate creatives such as painters, writers, actors and musicians. By focusing in on people who produce creative works, Leis is examining the very people who create art using their own medium.
