Siba Sahabi's new exhibition is titled Imaginem Sui and features kaleidoscopic reflections. The German-Iranian artist and designer took inspiration from the unique relationship between European and Middle Eastern art to create her own. Currently on display at the GRASSI Museum in Leipzig, Germany, viewers can enjoy the artist's geometric work until October 3rd, 2021.
The exhibit includes five geometric mirror objects. Using the kaleidoscopic illusion of perspective, the pieces captivate the viewer with streaks of brass and black colors. The contrasting colors and intertwined shapes illustrate how the art history of the Middle East and Europe have strong influences on each other. Popular belief would suggest that they have developed separately, but, in fact, they share a common history of knowledge.
