The ALDI Everyday Essentials Porridge Oats are showing off a new packaging as part of the brand's shift away from plastic that will be showing up at all locations in the UK. The packaging for the oats is now made with 100% paper with no plastic in the mix to allow for easy recycling from home through curbside programs. The packaging update is reported by the brand to save an expected 57 tonnes of plastic on an annual basis, which will help the brand in its bid to curb its plastic use by 50% by 2025.
Plastics and Packaging Director Luke Emery spoke on the new packaging for the ALDI Everyday Essentials Porridge Oats saying, "At Aldi, we are committed to reducing the use of plastic across our products and this latest change is another example of our ongoing progress. We know our customers want to make sustainable choices when they shop with us, which is why small steps like this can make a big difference.”
