Samsung's eMotion Project Prescribes Virtual Reality as Medical Treatment

When Samsung Italia made a visit to the Santa Maria Goretti Hospital, it treated patients to virtual outings as part of the eMotion project. The virtual reality experience uses the Samsung Gear VR in order to transport kids to Movieland, a virtual theme park complete with rides and other sources of entertainment. Use of the technology in the hospital aims to make sick kids feel like ordinary kids again, by giving them a chance to do things that they can't when they're stuck in a hospital bed. Beyond impacting a child's mood during any given day, Samsung has hopes that the use of virtual reality will have a greater impact on a child's overall journey to full recovery.
