Japanese-Swiss company Sunstar will soon be releasing the Virtus electric bicycle drive, an ingenious system that can transform any regular pedal bicycle into an e-bike in a matter of minutes. This product is a great option for people who are intrigued by e-bikes but don't want to spend thousands of dollars on one when they have a perfectly good regular bicycle in their garage.
The Virtus electric bicycle drive system is compatible with all conventional bicycle frames, and can transform standard bikes into electric bikes with up to 25 km/h of electric-assisted speed potential. The two main components of the system are its 250-watt motor and a multi-sensor controller that controls motor output and keeps tabs on the torque, cadence and speed.
The Virtus hardware can also be wirelessly connected to a smartphone to allow users to access performance-tracking features.
