Musée de Louvre works in collaboration with Snapchat to present the impressive Egypt Augmented project where visitors of the museum are transported from today to Ancient Egypt through the technology of augmented reality. This way, they are able to experience the unique wonders of the Egyptian Antiquities department and the Cour Carré of the Musée du Louvre from a new perspective.
The AR team at Snap joined forces with the curators of the department to ensure that what is being created remains historically accurate based on its archives and references. It is important that the original luster that has been lost over the years is carefully restored virtually. This adds a more vibrant visual with a retained shape and look of the artifacts.
