The Skyvillage eco skyscraper concept is designed to bridge communities that are separated by busy freeways and to help clean up pollution caused by the traffic underneath.
The building itself isn't only a bridge; Skyvillage is designed to be a neighborhood of its own so people living inside or close by won't have to use their cars for simple errands. Zwei Song is the designer behind this concept and he drew inspiration from trees for the building. The skyscraper would use otherwise wasted space with several towers connected by branching floors.
The vertical towers supporting the building would be filled with plants that would in theory help clean the air by absorbing pollution from the nearby freeway. The freeway system isn't just a problem of pollution, it also divides communities and which created pockets of poverty. By connecting the communities, the skyscraper could help unite the neighborhoods and clean the air.
