New York warehouse party promoters Reconstrvct were chosen to host the only North American launch party for Europe’s largest bass music festival, Outlook Festival. Consisting of Luke M and Joe Nice, one of the promoters from Dub War (the night that first brought dubstep to the US from the UK back in 2005), this aforementioned launch party solidifies Reconstrvct positioning as the landing dock for post-dubstep keeping America in the loop of the next wave of bass music.
The event promises to bring sounds unheard in the US circuit boasting Pinch who is a pioneer of the sound. He is a promotor, producer and label boss of Tectonic Recording releaser of artists such as Skream, 2562, Loefah, Digital Mystikz, Jack Sparrow and Joker to name a few. Goth-Trad from Japan is on the list. He is known to break ground by layering keyboards, samplers and even self-made instruments, which has earned him nickname “The Sound Originator” or as hyperdub label head Kode 9 put it “Goth-Trad is a one-man army.” Then there is Author (brainchild of Jack Sparrow and Ruckspin) who although is a new name on the scene, the producer duo that make it up are established in their own right.
Finally to further hype up the festival’s 5th year, Reconstrvct is drawing two lucky winners who will be given tickets to the weeklong festival 4500 miles away in Fort Punta Cristo, Croatia. In addition, limited edition silkscreen prints and t-shirts will be available for purchase.
