Discovery+ Introduces 'Showcase Ads' and 'Click-to-Contact' Feature

This spring Warner Bros.' new streaming platform Discovery+ unveiled a new slew of advertising options for brands, the most notable of which was 'Showcase Ads' -- a new proprietary shoppable ad format that allows viewers to actively shop the products that they see on their screens in real-time.
To start, the new feature will be offered to brands for actual ad spots on the platform but, according to the company, will eventually be incorporated into actual TV shows on the platform. What this means is that viewers may eventually be able to shop the products that they see being used in their favorite cooking shows, for example.
What's more, following suit with the brand's push towards shoppable TV, the company has more recently announced that it will begin rolling out a 'Click-to-Contact' feature later this year. Similar to Showcase Ads, this feature will allow viewers to click on an ad that is being shown on the platform and immediately receive an email with details about the product and a link to purchase it directly.
