Digimarc Corporation is serializing product packaging and labels with Digimarc Barcode to support food safety and traceability initiatives. In partnership with Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), Digimarc Corporation co-developed a hybrid printing method that allows Digimarc Barcode to be printed in large volumes. Thanks to this technology, everything from plastic clamshells for berries to ready-to-drink beverage bottles can be made with an enhanced label.
With this embedded labeling, all sorts of packaging types become scannable throughout the supply chain. When it comes to using this information, consumers might like to learn where an individual package came from, not only across the supply chain, but also a product's origin at a certain farm. This innovation boosts consumer safety and makes it possible for more insights to be gleaned across the whole supply chain.
