In a move will help brands on the platform, Snapchat has a deep linking feature for publishers. Online, deep linking allows people to go to a specific URL to access an indexed page on a website, rather than just the homepage of that site. This allows the social media app's publishers like VICE to point users back to their website that hasn't been possible before on the ephemeral messenger.
Deep linking enables publishers in the Discover section of the app to connect audiences back to articles, videos and other content. On the desktop version, the links will appear as a custom QR code mobile users can scan to access. Scanning the unique ID codes will bring them to the publisher's discover page for Snapchat-only content.
