Following the release of Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old back in 2015, Burn Stewart Distillers has expanded its portfolio yet again to include the exclusive Deanston 40 Year Old. Matured for an astonishing 40 years, the new whisky is the brand's oldest expression to date.
Much like the 20-year-old expression, Deanston 40 Year Old was matured in ex-oloroso Sherry casks, which have been said to give the alcohol notes of rich honey and a fruity finish. The non-chill-filtered whiskey was then bottled at a cask strength of 45.6% ABV and released for sale in global travel retail this January.
With just 480 bottles of the premium Scotch whisky available for purchase, the 40-year-old expression is a great option for discerning whisky drinkers or those who are looking to celebrate a special occasion.
